Alumni Update - Ameriah Walters (Seton Hill)

The Griffin track and field teams both had successful PSAC Outdoor Championships as they set sevenWalters SHU new school records and had three individual PSAC Champions.

The women's team finished sixth overall with 55 team points. Shippensburg won the team title with 172 points with Slippery Rock as the runner up with 115 points.

Ameriah Walters, a Valley graduate, defended her 200 meter dash title with a first place finish on Saturday. She set a new school record, running a time of 24.44.

Alumni Update - Brandon VanTine (Waynesburg)

BEAVER FALLS, Pa. – The Waynesburg University men's track & field team traveled to the Merriman AthleticVanTine Waynesburg Complex to compete in the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Outdoor Track & Field Championships.

The Yellow Jackets placed eighth in the 10-team field after tallying 42 points.

Waynesburg was led by its field athletes, particularly senior throwers Brandon VanTine and Aniellio DeStefano.

VanTine, a Valley graduate, turned in the Jackets' top finish of the two-day event by placing second in the shot put with a heave of 14.09 meters (46-2.75). He also logged the number-11 throw in the javelin.

Boys Tennis: East Feature Athlete - Valley's David Belitskus

Grade: 12
Sport: Boys Tennis

Background: Is the No. 1 singles player for the Vikings and helped the team qualify for the WPIAL Class 2A playoffs this season. Will have a tough first round match today for Valley against Central Valley senior Jack Shearer. The Vikings will host the Warriors Thursday at 3:30 p.m. Should be one of the players to watch in the Section 3 tournament in two weeks.


Alumni Update - Josh Denham (Waynesburg)

MARIETTA, Ohio – The Waynesburg University men's tennis team wrapped up its stay at the two-day Beren Tennis Invitational, which was hosted by Marietta.


The Yellow Jackets defeated Muskingum 6-3, before falling 8-1 to Penn State Altoona.

Sophomores Jonah Cooper and Josh Denham led the charge for Waynesburg (3-8) against the Muskies (0-5).

The second-year pair both went 2-0 on the day, with Denham, a Valley graduate, winning at the No. 2 singles and 8-0 in No. 1 doubles.

Valley faced McGuffey in the first round of the WPIAL playoffs Class 4A competition at Baldwin High School,  Wednesday, February 22. The game went into overtime so you know it was a good one, McGuffey being the victory by a score of 50-48.
