Name: Amber Brownfield
High School: South Allegheny
Grade: Sophomore
Sport: Soccer

Background info: Amber Brownfield is a sophomore forward for South Allegheny. Brownfield scored 19 goals in the regular season as a freshman to help lead the Gladiators to their first ever perfect section record and playoff win. She is one of eight returning starters back this year for South Allegheny.

Coach Jesse MacPherson said: "She means a ton to this team. She is obviously one of our leading scorers, what people don't see in the newspapers is that a lot of other people's goals come from her. She is probably the best ball handler in the section and very good at crossing. She doesn't miss her chances. Her development from a freshman to a sophomore has been physical. She is faster this year, she is a little stronger and has a lower center of gravity. She probably wins 90 percent of the 50-50 balls. The physical jump has been the biggest jump. Amber has always been a serious soccer player."
