Evans stands on head for Shaler hockey team against North Allegheny

Written by Ryan Riordan on .

North Allegheny dominated the shots on goal battle against Shaler, 44-20.

But the Tigers didn’t dominate on the scoreboard because of the Titans’ Vinny Evans.

Evans stopped 43-of-44 shots to help Shaler upset top-ranked North Allegheny, 2-1.

Luke Grossman and Austin Martz both tallied first period goals for the Titans, and no team scored in the final two periods.

It was the second consecutive win for Evans, who is now 5-5-1 with a 3.74 goals-against average and .887 save percentage.
