Quaker Valley hockey team clears biggest hurdle to undefeated regular season

Written by Ryan Riordan on .

Quaker Valley entered Tuesday’s game against Mars with a perfect 17-0 record and five games remaining in the regular season.

The Planets figured to be their toughest test, having not lost in their 14 games since falling to the Quakers, 5-2, on Nov. 15.

But once again the Quakers prevailed, as Ryan Dickson scored two goals and added an assist, while Parker Sherry stopped all 22 shots in a 4-0 win.

It was the fourth consecutive win for Quaker Valley against Mars, including the victory in the Class A Penguins Cup final last season.

Ryan Lottes and Clayton Bouchard each added a goal for the Quakers, who outshot Mars, 55-22.

Quaker Valley’s four remaining games are: vs. Serra Catholic (11-8-0), vs. South Fayette (4-14-1), vs. Kittanning (12-4-1) and at Kittanning.
