Kessy, defense help Pine-Richland hockey team battle for section lead
PIHL Class AA Section 4 foes Pine-Richland and Hampton came into Monday’s game with identical 8-3-1 records.
It was the first of two games between the two squads this season, and the Rams got the better of the Talbots in the first go-around.
Dillon Kessy scored a natural hat trick to give the Rams a 3-0 lead and Michael Carrozzi and Zach Richey added goals to make the final 5-0.
The Pine-Richland defense also held the Talbots to just 12 shots in the game, compared to the 31 the Rams accumulated.
Brian Bagnato notched his second shutout of the season.
