As a junior last season, Pine Richland’s Dominic Giordano scored a 544.50 to capture the WPIAL Class AAA diving championship. He blew out the field, with the next highest score being over 100 less than his.

The last time the WPIAL had back-to-back champions it was North Allegheny’s Connor Kuremsky, who won all four WPIAL diving championships during his career. Now it is three divers from the Tigers chasing Giordano.

Through Friday, Giordano had the highest reported score among WPIAL divers with a 365.5. He was ahead of three North Allegheny divers, Christian Wrigley (224.35), Lucas Hilderbrand (176.9) and Andrew Doerfler (170.05).

Shaler’s Thad Piet also had a reported dive of 163.45.
