Peters Township softball team rolls past Tennessee competition

Written by Nick Tolomeo on .

Last year Peters Township traveled to Oldham, Kentucky to take part in the Oldham County Classic. The Indians went 3-2 in the two-day tournament including posting a 3-1 record against home state teams.

This year Peters Township set its sights on Tennessee.

While the goal is to be the best team in Pennsylvania, the Indians made an argument they were one of the best teams in Tennessee. At the two-day Gordonsville Tournament in Cookeville, Tennessee, Peters Township went a perfect 4-0 against the competition that all hailed from the Volunteer State.

On Friday the Indians blasted South Pittsburg, Tennessee 11-1 and White County, Tennessee 9-0. On Saturday they defeated Franklin County, Tennessee 6-0 and Stone Memorial, Tennessee 3-1.
