Norwin hockey team struggling to prevent goals

Written by Ryan Riordan on .

Norwin seemed to be in control of Class AAA Section 3 after beating Shaler on Jan. 7 to improve to 8-5.

But since then, Norwin has given up 24 goals in three losses to North Allegheny, Mt. Lebanon and Penn-Trafford.

While North Allegheny is the top team in the league, Mt. Lebanon and Penn-Trafford had a combined four wins before beating the Knights.

Norwin is now just 11th out of 15 teams in Class AAA in goals allowed this season.

While Norwin has been struggling, section foe State College has been streaking, winning five straight games. That has pushed State College (9-6) into first place, two points ahead of the Knights.
