Tri-State Sports & News Service writer Brad Everett profiles new North Hills football coach Pat Carey. Click here to read the story.

"For the first time in more than three decades, the North Hills football team opened training camp this week without Jack McCurry as its head coach.

Luckily for the Indians, the man taking McCurry's place knows more about the program than just about anyone.

The "Pat Carey Era" will officially begin when North Hills travels to take on Penn-Trafford in the season opener Aug. 30, but in all actuality, Carey has played a part in the team's success since the 1980s.

Once a star player and then a successful assistant coach, Carey took full rein of the North Hills program when he was named head coach Feb. 18."
