Baseball: North Allegheny eyes showdown with Pine-Richland

North Allegheny has played its share of close games this season.

In their eight games, the Tigers have won five by two runs or fewer.

North Allegheny (8-0, 3-0) would like to add one more close win to its record on Wednesday when it travels to Pine-Richland (9-1, 3-0) in a battle for first place in Class 6A Section 1.

Pine-Richland has held its own against the Tigers and has won its last two meetings between the two teams. North Allegheny swept the season series in 2015 but dropped both in 2016.

Junior Luke Trueman has been an offensive threat at the plate for North Allegheny as he is batting .550 (11-20) with five RBIs. Andrew Turazi leads the team with two doubles and nine RBIs.
