One of Mt. Lebanon's best football players decided on a college Saturday.
Coleman Coco committed to Colgate.
That has a nice ring to it, doesn't it?
Coco, a senior defensive end and Mt. Lebanon's top returning tackler, picked the Patriot League school located in Central New York. Coco announced his decision on Twitter.
"I would like to thank all of the schools who have gone out of their way to recruit me as a student athlete. The recruitment process will forever be an unforgettable experience. I would also like to thank my family, teachers, coaches, and teammates for helping me become the man I am today and in making this decision. Finally, thank you to Coach Knowles and Coach Hunt for the opportunity to continue my athletic career at the collegiate level. With that, I am proud to announce that I will be continuing my academic and athletic career at ... COLGATE UNIVERSITY #GATA #'gate" -- @coleman_coco
Coco was Mt. Lebanon's second-leading tackler last season with 68. He also had a team-best two interceptions and added one sack. Coco helped the Blue Devils go 7-4 and reach the WPIAL Class 6A playoffs.
When Coco arrives at Colgate, a few other WPIAL players will be waiting. T.J. Holl (Seneca Valley), Nick Ioanilli (Ellwood City) currently play for the Raiders.
