Girls Soccer: Moon takes care of business in WPIALs, prepares for PIAA playoffs

Written by Nicholas Tolomeo on .

Moon has been the team to beat in WPIAL Class 3A seemingly since practices started in the summer. Now the Tigers could very well be the team to beat in the state as the PIAA playoffs begin on Tuesday. Moon captured a WPIAL title on Friday night when it found a way to get past No. 6 Montour, 1-0. The old cliché expressing the difficulty in beating a team three times was true this time as Moon struggled to find the net against the Spartans until the final minutes. The Tigers had won the two regular season meetings, 2-1 and 2-0. Moon is 21-1 and has the attention of the PIAA Class 3A field. It will play District 9 champion DuBois on Tuesday at Seneca Valley High School at 6 p.m.
