Maybe Moon was looking past Mt. Lebanon a little bit when the two teams met on Monday night, but Joey Sell came alive at just the right time to extend the Tigers unbeaten streak to 11 and set up a showdown of first place teams Friday night against Plum.
Sell scored a pair of goals, one 52 seconds into the third period and the other in overtime, to help Moon (13-1-1) to a 3-2 victory over second-place Mt Lebanon (11-4-1) to extend its lead over the Blue Devils to four points with only four games remaining in the regular season for both teams.
Plum will be a different animal. The Mustangs (12-2-0) have won their last four, have given up the fewest goals in the classification (29) and forward Nolan Puhala leads 2A with 31 goals and 49 points.
