Alumni Update - Amanda Bruscemi (Slippery Rock)

WEXFORD, Pa. The Slippery Rock University women's tennis team defeated Lafayette College, 8-1, SundayBruscemi SRU morning at the Oxford Athletic Club in Wexford, Pennsylvania.

The victory improves The Rock's record to 2-2 on the season. Lafayette falls to 2-4 on the year with the loss.

Slippery Rock, which was ranked fifth in the Atlantic Region by Intercollegiate Tennis Association in the organization's most recent regional rankings, took all three doubles matches and five of six singles bouts on the way to the victory.

Amanda Bruscemi and Tiffany Kollah earned the first point of the day with an 8-2 win against Grace Conrad and Katie Hill at second doubles.

Bruscemi, a Montour graduate, snapped a personal three-match losing streak with a 6-0, 6-2 win against Hill in the fourth flight.

Hockey: West Feature Athlete - Montour's Mason Skeath

Name: Mason Skeath
School: Montour
Grade: 12
Sport: Hockey
Position: Goaltender

Background: Skeath is in his first season as the Montour starter. He helped the Spartans qualify for the PIHL Class 1A playoffs. Skeath finished the regular season with a 7-5-1 record, a 3.16 goals-against average and a .846 save percentage. He had a four-game winning streak earlier in the season.

Alumni Update - Kevin Scuilli (Penn State - Behrend)

ERIE, Pa. - The Penn State Behrend men's basketball team closed out the regular season Saturday afternoon,Scuilli PSUB defeating Penn State Altoona 90-78.

With the win, the Lions (19-6, 14-4 AMCC) lock up the No. 2 seed and secure a first-round bye in the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) playoffs.

Celebrating senior day, Kevin Scuilli, a Montour graduate, had his first career start in a Behrend uniform. The senior guard came out firing, putting the Lions on the board first with a three from the corner.

He would go on to pick up two more three-pointers, finishing the day with nine points on perfect 3-for-3 shooting.

Wrestling: All-Time Teams - Montour

Southwestern Pennsylvania has been a hotbed for high school wrestling since the WPIAL held its first tournament in 1936. The Sports Town website will honor the WPIAL's best wrestlers of all-time during the 2016-17 season. Wrestling Historian Ken "Stats" Wunderley, with the help of former Mt. Lebanon coach Bill Lewis, will pick an All-Time Team for 72 high schools from the WPIAL.

The All-Time Teams will feature the best wrestlers from those schools. We will feature 6 or 7 high schools each Wednesday on Sports Town for 10 weeks during the season. The All-Time lists reflect high school accomplishments only. College and international accomplishments were not considered.

Alumni Update - Josh Randall (Chatham)

GREENVILLE, Pa. – The Chatham Cougars were conquered by the Thiel College Tomcats 74-57.Randall Chatham    


Sophomore Josh Randall, a Montour graduate, led the Cougars in scoring with 14 points.
