In case the game was not already circled on Knoch's calendar this offseason, April 27 is certainly circled now. The Knights would be perfect if not for a blemish at home due to a 4-2 loss to Mount Pleasant on April 10. It was the Knights first game upon returning from a two-day four-game tournament in Morning View, Ky. Since then, Knoch has been on fire. It has shutout three consecutive opponents, outscoring Indiana, Highlands and Cardinal Wuerl North Catholic by a combined 31-0.
Knoch still has important section titles against Derry and Mount Pleasant on Monday and Tuesday before the Thursday showdown with the Vikings. But Knoch has already defeated Uniontown and Derry by a combined 21-0. In fact Mount Pleasant is the only section opponent to score a run on Knoch.
Knoch (10-1, 4-1) and Mount Pleasant (5-1, 4-1) are currently tied for first place with Indiana (4-5, 3-2), Derry (3-4, 2-3) and Highlands (3-6, 2-3) part of a tightly packed race behind them.
