At the plate and on the mound, Jared Skolnicki has been a key part of the success the Keystone Oaks baseball team has attained this season.
Skolnicki, a senior outfielder/pitcher and Kent State signee, leads his team in hitting and is also their top pitcher. Through April 21, Skolnicki was batting .640 – the second best mark in the WPIAL – and was 3-0 on the mound.
Skolnicki pitched a three-hitter in helping Keystone Oaks earn a huge 1-0 win against Class AAA Section 3 rival Chartiers Valley last Friday. The win moved Keystone Oaks (10-3, 5-1) within a half-game of Chartiers Valley (13-3, 6-1) for first place in the section.
Skolnicki also had an excellent senior season for the Keystone Oaks basketball team, leading the Golden Eagles with 17.8 points per game.
