Keystone Oaks hockey coach McCarthy reaches milestone

Written by Ryan Riordan on .

When Keystone Oaks defeated Baldwin 3-2 on Jan. 25, it gave fifth-year head coach John McCarthy his 50th regular-season win at the school.

He followed it with another win Monday, running his regular-season record at Keystone Oaks to 51-39-4.

The Golden Eagles won 14 regular-season games and reached the Nailers Cup finals in each of McCarthy’s first two seasons at the school.

And after two straight losing seasons, Keystone Oaks has bounced back this season.

The Golden Eagles are 9-4-1 and have won five consecutive games. They are currently tied with Baldwin for second place in Section 4, two points behind Greensburg Salem.
