Written by Nicholas Tolomeo on .

Recent Yough graduate Nicole Sleith is wasting no time making her impact felt at Robert Morris University.

The freshman pitcher was recently tabbed as a Northeast Conference Co-Rookie of the Week as she helped lead the Colonials to a perfect 5-0 record at UMBC's Spring Classic. Of the 10 teams competing in the tournament only Robert Morris left the tournament unbeaten.

It was the second time in four weeks Sleith has been named a rookie of the week by the NEC.

Sleith pitched three complete-game victories at the Spring Classic and even recorded her third save of the season.

Against Big East member Georgetown, Sleith three a three-hit shutout in a 1-0 win. All three hits were only singles and her eight strikeouts in the game tied a season high.

Sleith also threw complete-game wins against Siena and Rhode Island and picked up a save against Brown.

This season Sleith is 3-0 with a 1.29 ERA and 18 strikeouts. She has allowed only one extra-base hit in 21 2/3 innings pitched.
