Greene emerging as a threat for Woodland Hills football team

Written by Ken Wunderley on .

The Woodland Hills football team typically boasts a run-heavy offense, but that hasn’t stopped the Wolverines from producing Division I pass-catchers ever now and then.

Tom Greene might be the next in line.

Greene could be destined for a breakout senior season. Greene, a 6-foot-3, 190-pound wide receiver, has flashed his talent time and time again this summer, most recently last weekend at Pitt’s 7-on-7 passing camp. In the championship game against Kirtland, Ohio on Sunday, Greene made a leaping touchdown catch on fourth down of the final drive to give Woodland Hills the win. Greene reportedly performed very well at the Michigan State passing camp a week earlier.

Greene and junior Harry Randall will try to fill the void created by Shakim Alonzo, a Big 33 Classic selection who committed to Cincinnati. Alonzo had 25 catches for 513 yards and eight touchdowns as a senior. The Wolverines attempted less than 100 passes last season when they went 6-4 and lost to Mt. Lebanon in the first round of the WPIAL Class AAAA playoffs.
