Spina a pitching ace for the Washington baseball team

Written by Brad Everett on .

Washington has had a terrific season, and it’s top pitcher is one of the top reasons why.

Jonathan Spina, a sophomore left-hander, has been exceptional for a Washington team that could have wrapped up the Class AA Section 2 title with a win at Burgettstown yesterday. The Little Prexies were 11-4 overall, 10-3 in the section.

According to Post-Gazette statistics compiled through April 21, Spina was 5-0, which was the top mark in the WPIAL. Spina has been a hit at the plate, too. He had two hits and three RBIs for the Little Prexies in an 8-3 win against Brownsville on April 25.
