Vincentian Academy softball team peaking at right time

Written by Nicholas Tolomeo on .

A 6-4 record is nothing to scoff at but the record looked rather pedestrian for a program with such lofty expectations as Vincentian Academy.

The Royals are starting to look a lot more like the Vincentian teams of the past. It reeled off four consecutive blowout wins in the span of two days. The Royals swept a doubleheader at Cornell winning by a combined 25-0 on Thursday and on Friday they swept Sewickley Academy by a combined score of 28-8.

Vincentian has now won six of seven. It closes out section play against North Catholic on May 1 before non-section games at Ellwood City and Shaler to help prepare the team for the playoffs. Vincentian has secured second place in Section 3-A with a 7-2 record behind Sto-Rox (9-0).
