Vincentian cross country has sights set on PIAA invitation
Rich Emert talks about the Vincentian cross country team and the runners who aim to make a run for states in 2011.
"It was a good question: Why would the Vincentian Academy boys cross country team compete in the A Division at the Central Catholic Invitational against large schools such as Mt. Lebanon, Baldwin, Central Catholic and Fox Chapel?
The explanation is that Vincentain has designs on earning a trip -- as a team -- to the PIAA championships. To do that, the Royals have to finish in one of the top four spots at the WPIAL championships a week from today. And the best way for runners to improve is to go against good competition."
