Upper St. Clair softball team building for next season

There will be no playoffs for Upper St. Clair this year, but someone forgot to tell the Panthers their remaining games are meaningless.

Upper St. Clair reeled off three consecutive wins last week including a surprising 2-1 upset of section rival and playoff-bound Baldwin.

In the upset over Baldwin, senior shortstop Abi Burner came through with a walk-off single to drive in senior outfielder Karis Rooney to lift the Panthers past the Highlanders.

The Panthers would go on to win 7-3 at Mt. Lebanon and 3-0 at West Mifflin. Looking back the team has to wonder what might have been. It lost two games by one run and another two games by two and three runs.
