A look at Somerset: University Prep football’s PIAA regional matchup
Tomorrow (November 9), University Prep (5-3) will face District V’s Somerset (5-5) in a PIAA regional match. Likewise, we thought it’d be nice to post some facts about Somerset.
Somerset High School has, according to the PIAA website, 600 total enrollment and plays football in Class AAA.

According to this report in the Tribune-Democrat , the Golden Eagles are in their first season under head coach Bob Landis. Last season, Somerset went 0-10.
In a November 7 Tribune-Democrat report previewing the University Prep/Somerset game, Landis said he sought consistency from his team. The report described Somerset’s offense as being driven by junior quarterback Tanner Stull, running back Matt Boyer, and the receptions of Zach Baker, Bryce Mostoller, Doug Berkebile, and Jordan Wilkow.
The winner of the tomorrow’s football game will face the winner of the other regional semifinal between top-seeded Clearfield and No. 4 Punxsutawney.
