Sto-Rox softball team hoping history does not repeat itself
The 2012 Sto-Rox softball season is starting out exactly like the 2011 version. Now the Vikings will try to write a new ending.
Last season Sto-Rox won its first 13 games. This year Sto-Rox has won its first 13 games.
Last season the team’s 13th win was also its last. Sto-Rox closed out the regular season losing three consecutive non-section games. The losses were not all that shocking considering they came against Class AAA programs like West Allegheny and Chartiers Valley and Class AAAA Seneca Valley. The games were meant to be postseason tune-ups. But in the postseason, the No. 2 seeded Vikings were stunned by Fort Cherry 9-8 in the first round.
Sto-Rox will look to write a different ending starting on May 1 against Cornell. Its non-section tune-up schedule once again features West Allegheny, Chartiers Valley and Seneca Valley.
