South Park’s Stanley named Pennsylvania’s top track performer
An unforgettable high school season now complete, the honors continue to roll in for South Park javelin whiz Billy Stanley.
Stanley was named Gatorade Pennsylvania Boys Track and Field Athlete of the Year last week.
The accolade, of course, is well deserved. Stanley’s terrific career was capped off by a senior season which saw him win the PIAA Class AAA title with a record throw of 246 feet, nine inches. The heave was a NFHS record and the longest in the country this season. Stanley also set meet records while winning the event at the WPIAL championships and Penn Relays.
Stanley will attend Ohio State this fall.
