Schultz starring for struggling South Fayette hockey team
While his team is still winless this season, South Fayette forward Ryan Schultz has been on fire early in the season.
Schultz has scored nine points in his last two games, both against Deer Lakes, and now has 10 points on the season in three games.
His point total was third in PIHL Class A as of Wednesday morning, behind only Kittanning’s Christian Miller and Hunter Grafton, who have 14 and 13 points, respectively.
Schultz had an assist in the team’s opener against Mars, then scored three goals and had two assists in a 6-6 tie with Deer Lakes on Nov. 5. He then added another two goals and two assists in a rematch with the Lancers Monday, which South Fayette lost 7-4.
Schultz’s teammate, junior Joe Testa, has added six points (four goals, two assists). The two of them were the leading returning point scorers for South Fayette after scoring 30 points last season.
