Postseason is routine for Shaler softball team
It is another WPIAL softball postseason and another run to the WPIAL semifinals for Shaler.
Under coach Skip Palmer, Shaler has played in four championship games over the past five seasons (three WPIAL finals and one PIAA final). The team knows the drill by now.
“The girls look forward to it, it is a lot of fun,” Palmer said. “It is like a different season. They miss a lot more school, we travel and eat together now, it is a lot more fun for them and they realize it is one loss and you’re out. There is a little bit of pressure on them that way but they are very mature. We try to do the same thing, we don’t do anything different, if it’s not in by now, it’s not going in.”
The Titans blasted Latrobe 9-1 in the WPIAL Class AAAA quarterfinals. They will face Canon-McMillan on Wednesday in the semifinals.
