Shaler softball team has put early-season losses behind it
It seems like ages ago that Shaler, the preseason No. 1 ranked team, was on the wrong end of an eight-run loss at North Allegheny and a six-run loss at home against Hempfield. Now the Titans are rolling along looking more like the preseason No. 1 team than the team who lost to North Allegheny and Hempfield.
Shaler has won nine in a row to bring its record to 13-2 overall and 10-1 in Section 3-AAAA where they sit alone in first place ahead of Seneca Valley (8-2) and North Allegheny (7-2).
The Titans clinched the section title with a 9-0 win over North Hills. Two days earlier it created separation between itself and the second-place Raiders with a crucial 6-2 win at Seneca Valley. In that game senior outfielder Sara Gieble had two RBIs.
Shaler closes out its section schedule on May 2 with a game at Pine-Richland.
