JamisonBrendanThe Robert Morris men's hockey program has announced its team leadership for the 2012-13 season with senior defenseman Brendan Jamison, a Shady Side Academy graduate, serving as Colonials' captain. Jamison was selected in a vote by the Robert Morris active roster.

Jamison, a Shady Side Academy graduate, will be the first Pittsburgh native to wear the "C" for Robert Morris since the program began competition in 2004-05. Denny Urban served as an assistant captain for the Colonials in 2010-11.

Jamison was one of five Colonials to skate in all 39 games in 2011-12 and the only returning skater to do so. Jamison tallied a team-high 48 blocked shots last season and also contributed career highs of seven points and six assists offensively for RMU.

In 97 career games, the blue-liner has recorded 14 points (three goals, 11 assists) and has skated in 76-consecutive games for Robert Morris dating back to his sophomore season.

Jamison is also a second-generation Colonial. His father, Jack Jamison, attended what was then Robert Morris College.

"I am extremely honored to serve as team captain next season and to represent my hometown at Robert Morris. Coming back to play college hockey in my hometown was in itself a dream come true for me, and fortunately, I've been able to enjoy my college career while hockey is exploding in Pittsburgh. We get more fans each year, and the atmosphere surrounding the program has been great," Jamison said. "This town has given me a great platform to succeed, and I am very proud to say that I'm from Pittsburgh."

Robert Morris enters its ninth season of NCAA competition in 2012-13 and its third year as a member of the Atlantic Hockey Association.
