Sewickley Academy boys' soccer team prepares for PIAA playoffs
Sewickley Academy had no experience this season bouncing back from a loss.
But after dropping a 2-1 decision to Greensburg Central Catholic in the WPIAL Class A semifinals for their first loss of the season, the Panthers had no trouble brushing it off. Sewickley Academy blanked Serra Catholic 3-0 in the third-place game to qualify for the PIAA playoffs.
It was the 16th shutout of the season for Sewickley Academy, its third in the playoffs and its 10th in the last 11 games.
Sewickley Academy (18-1-1) will face District 10 champion Mercer at Franklin High School at 6 tonight.
