PIAA Tennis: Sewickley Academy duo gets consolation

The Post-Gazette has the details on Sewickley Academy's progress in the state tennis tournament:

"Finding themselves on opposite sides of the PIAA Class AA championship bracket, the doubles teams that met in the WPIAL final hoped to play each other for another title.

They did, in fact, get a rematch, but it was in the third-place consolation match instead.

After both teams lost in the semifinals, Will Kleeman and Patrick Dellinger of Sewickley Academy beat Winchester Thurston's Tym Hoban and Alex Kietz, 6-0, 6-3, Saturday afternoon at the Hershey Racquet Club.

The tandems were the only WPIAL representatives to reach the semifinals Saturday in Class AAA or AA. No WPIAL singles player qualified for the semifinals.

Three weeks earlier, Kleeman and Dellinger slipped past Hoban and Kietz, 7-5, 6-2, to capture the WPIAL championship."
