"Seton-LaSalle is the Post-Gazette's No. 1-ranked WPIAL Class AA team, but the Rebels are one of the best teams, regardless of classification. They were 14-0 heading into Thursday night's game against South Allegheny, and had defeated three Class AAA teams and three Class AAAA teams, including three-time defending PIAA champion Mt. Lebanon. Seton-LaSalle, which features a few Division I college prospects, leads the WPIAL in scoring at 69.4 points a game.
Angela Heintz is only a junior, but this 5-foot-10 guard has made a verbal commitment to Duquesne University, which is coached by former Seton-LaSalle star Suzie McConnell-Serio. Heintz, who committed to the Dukes shortly before Christmas, is the team's second-leading scorer at 15.0 points a game. "Angela has always wanted to go to Duquesne. Her mom taught Suzie when Suzie was a student at Seton-LaSalle," Seton-LaSalle coach Dennis Squeglia said. "Suzie was here the night we played Mt. Lebanon and Angela had a great game. Suzie said, 'You know, I think it's time we talk serious to her.' Two weeks later, they offered a scholarship and she committed.""
