Only a freshman, Lauren Zola has taken over pitching duties from her older sister Chelsea Zola and has helped guide Seton-LaSalle to a perfect 10-0 start. Chelsea is now pitching at Clarion University while Lauren Zola is guiding the Rebels.
“They are very different type pitchers,” Seton-LaSalle coach Jay Krull said. “Chelsea is probably more of a junk ball pitcher with just outstanding control and Lauren is more of a power pitcher.”
Krull had no reservations about starting a freshman pitcher this season. For one he saw Chelsea Zola pitch for two years and he has also followed the career of Lauren since she was 10 years old.
