Pitt-Johnstown Mountain Cat senior center Patrick Grubbs (Turtle Creek, Pa./Serra Catholic H.S.) earned 2011-12 Sporting News NCAA Division II Men's Basketball Preseason Honorable Mention All-America honors when this year's teams were released.

Grubbs dominated the paint for the Mountain Cats as a junior on his way to earning First-Team All-WVIAC honors.  Grubbs, a two-time WVIAC Player of the Week selection, led Pitt-Johnstown in scoring (18.4 ppg.), rebounding (8.5 rpg.), field goal percentage (67.5%), and blocked shots (19).  Grubbs collected 10 double-doubles on points and rebounds and scored in double-figures in all 28 Mountain Cat games.  Nationally, he finished fourth in field goal percentage, 46th in rebounding, and 64th in scoring.

On Jan. 15, 2011 at Ohio Valley (WV) University, Grubbs became the Mountain Cats’ 22nd 1,000-point scorer.  He enters this season ranked 10th on the Pitt-Johnstown All-Time Scoring List (1,294 points) and third on the all-time rebounding list (943 rebounds).
