Written by Sports Town on .

Seneca Valley was down during the 2011-12 season, winning just three of its 20 games.

But under the direction of new coach Anthony Raco, the Raiders have almost equaled their win total from last season just two games into the 2012-13 season.

Seneca Valley is 2-0 after upsetting preseason No. 2 Canon-McMillan 2-1 Tuesday night.

The star of the evening was goaltender Tanner Pfeffer, who stopped 41-of-42 shots to hand the Big Macs their first loss of the season. Canon-McMillan outshot Seneca Valley 42-18 in the contest.

Seneca Valley got first-period goals from Luke Reed and Patrick Stough.

The Raiders also beat top-five preseason team Peters Township in the first game of the season, 7-3.

Chris Marziotto leads the team on the season with three goals and four points.

The Raiders next game will be Monday against 3-1 Norwin.
