Alumni Update - Karisa Fernandez (Edinboro)
Edinboro senior forward Karisa Fernandez was a second-team selection on the All-Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Women's Soccer Team.Fernandez, a Seneca Valley High School graduate, finished one of the finest careers in Edinboro history with her third All-PSAC honors after previously taking a third-team nod last season and being a second-team pick following her sophomore season.
Fernandez was second on the team in both goals (11) and points (25), rising to second in school history in career points with 88 and third with 34 total goals. In the postseason, she registered a goal in Edinboro's PSAC semifinal contest at California University of Pennsylvania as well as the team's lone goal in the NCAA Division II Tournament match vs. Slippery Rock.
Edinboro finished its season at 13-4-3 and for the second straight season scored a victory in the PSAC Tournament and earned a berth in the NCAA Division II Tournament. The Fighting Scots also reached double-digit victories for the third year in a row, another first in school history.
