Seneca Valley softball team knows its path
Last season Seneca Valley proved that seeds are just a number.
The tenth-seeded Raiders strung together three consecutive upsets to reach the WPIAL Class AAAA championship game. The Raiders upset No. 7 Plum, No. 2 Hempfield and No. 3 Baldwin on their way to the WPIAL final where they were ultimately defeated by Latrobe.
If the Raiders want a return trip to California University this year, they are going to have to do it the hard way again. Seneca Valley, the third-place team out of Section 3-AAAA, is seeded No. 12. It has a first-round date with No. 6 Franklin Regional, with the winner getting No. 3 seed Peters Township who has a first-round bye.
