Seneca Valley's Watson primed for softball playoffs
Seneca Valley senior pitcher Emily Watson is peaking at just the right time, the week heading into the WPIAL playoffs.
Watson matched her season-high with seven strikeouts in a 10-7 win at Butler on Thursday. She had previously struck out seven back on March 27, a non-section win over Blackhawk in which she threw a no hitter.
Watson and Seneca Valley have four shutouts this season and eight times they have limited opponents to one run or fewer.
Seneca Valley is 13-4 overall and it finished in third place in Section 3-AAAA with a 9-3 record. The Raiders have major non-section tests this week, first against Class A unbeaten Sto-Rox on Monday and Class AAAA Baldwin on Tuesday.
