Riverview girls’ basketball enjoyed WPIAL champs games with mixed feelings
“I know a number of my girls have talked about going [to the AJ Palumbo Center],” said head coach Keith Stitt on Friday. “So I know they have interest in Single-A.”
The exact interest was different for varying members of the Riverview team. “Obviously, it works to our benefit as a team should North Catholic win,” said Stitt. “But they’ve also expressed some sentiment that they’re kind of indifferent.” Competition is competition to many of the Riverview girls – it’s all good.
Stitt also said many wished that the Class AA game were held at a different time, as 3pm on a Friday would be difficult for many fans to make. “We actually practice through that time-set,” Stitt said.
In the wake of Vincentian’s win, the Riverview (16-8) team is now the 4-seed in the PIAA tournament. They will play their first-round game on Saturday versus Kennedy Catholic (20-3) at Sharon High School.
