Name: Anthony Meneice
High School: Riverside
Grade: 12
Sport: Soccer

Background info: Many high school athletes hope for the opportunity to chance to compete in the PIAA playoffs just once in their career, yet a relative few ever get the chance. Anthony Meneice, though, had the chance to play in the PIAA playoffs in consecutive seasons. A vital part of the Riverside baseball team’s march to the PIAA title in the spring, Meneice scored the game-winning goal in a first round PIAA playoff win over Brockway. He also found the time this fall to be the placekicker for the football team.

Quotes from Coach Ben Huth: “Anthony absolutely took over this year after his work in the offseason. He quit his summer job so he could attend our speed and strength workouts and you could absolutely see the difference. I saw it when he could take over a game and he absolutely had the ability to control the offensive side of the field and that is such a great asset to have. I had a group of five guys who played on the baseball team and it really helps to have such a core of players with a winning mentality.”
