Riverside boys' soccer team knows little about Brockway
Riverside didn’t get much of a chance bask in the glory of the WPIAL Class A championship it won Saturday wiht a 2-1 double-overtime victory over Greensburg Central Catholic.
The Panthers play tonight against Brockway at Hampton High School in the first round of the PIAA playoffs. Other than the fact that they’ll have to get on the bus earlier than his team, Riverside coach Ben Huth knows little of the Rovers.
“I know they were red and black and their mascot looks like a cartoon character, almost like Snoopy,” Huth said. “I Googled them and couldn’t find out much of anything.
“In the WPIAL, you know it’s so competitive and you know what to make of scores. I really have nothing to compare it to so I wouldn’t know the scores mean.
“All season, though, we haven’t overprepared for any opponent. I just told the team we’ll do what we do best and, if we’re good enough to win, we’ll win.”
