So far the Riverside season has featured a seven-game winning streak and a five-game winning streak sandwiched around a 5-2 loss at Neshannock.
The Panthers now have a chance to avenge their only loss this season. Riverside will host Neshannock on May 1 at 4 p.m. Not only will Riverside be looking to avenge the loss, it will be looking to earn a share of first place. Neshannock (14-0, 11-0) is atop Section 5-AA just ahead of Riverside (12-1, 10-1).
The teams split their meetings last season with Neshannock winning at home 6-5 and Riverside holding serve at home with a 3-0 win.
After the Neshannock game Riverside will still have to travel to Mohawk and Beaver Area for section contests but the game against the Lancers figures to determine how the section standings will look come season end.
