With strong nucleus back, Riverside basketball team has big plans

"Riverside girls basketball coach John Wolf can tell you that the Panthers have won five of the past eight WPIAL Class AA, Section 2 championships, but he won't drone on about it.

Wolf's objective -- along with his team's -- is to reach the top of the section again, build on the 20-4 record the team achieved in the 2010-11 season and make more steps in the postseason.

"You won't hear me talk about last year's team," he said. "What I will [emphasize] is that we shouldn't overlook anyone. With the leadership we have, I feel more comfortable about this team."

Although not dwelling on the past, Wolf is grateful that three starters from that team are back for at least one more season."
