Quaker Valley's Caravaggio finishes girls' tennis career with another silver medal

Written by Ryan Riordan on .

Quaker Valley senior Spencer Caravaggio finished off a great high school career Saturday, taking second in the PIAA Class AA singles tournament.

It was the second runner-up finish at states in singles for Caravaggio, who qualified for the PIAA singles tournament in each of her four years. She also won two WPIAL singles titles twice and led Quaker Valley to the state tournament in all four seasons.

Still, she wanted the gold medal.

“Obviously, I wish I would have won first,” Caravaggio said. “But it was still a great experience. I won a lot of matches and made a lot of friends.”

Now Caravaggio will decide what to do with her future. She said she will definitely be playing tennis in college, but she is not sure where yet. She said she and Quaker Valley coach Jeff Sebastian will likely sit down and discuss her options in the near future.
