Alumni Update - Tabitha Bemis (Edinboro)

BemisTabithaEdinboro sophomore Tabitha Bemis, a Quaker Valley High School graduate, broke the school record and finished fifth in the triple jump, with a final mark of 12.20 meters, while competing at the NCAA Division II National Indoor Track and Field Championships hosted at Minnesota State Mankato last week.

That mark meant that Bemis would pick up her second All-American award in as many days. Her finish of sixth overall in the long jump on Friday earned her first All-American award.

Bemis also was awarded United States Track and Field Collegiate Coaches Association Atlantic Region Women’s Field Athlete of the Year as well as Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Most Outstanding Overall and Most Outstanding Field Athlete at the PSAC Indoor Track and Field Championships. Bemis won both the triple jump and long jump events at the PSAC Indoor Track and Field Championships hosted by Edinboro on Feb. 25-26.
