Alumni Update - Scott McGough (Rancho Cucamonga Quakes)

McGoughScottPlum High School graduate Scott McGough traveled across the country to play college baseball at Oregon.

Still on the West Coast, the right-handed pitcher is beginning to make his mark as a reliever in the Los Angeles Dodgers' farm system.

McGough , 22, is 2-5 with five saves and a 3.66 ERA in 28 games for high Class A Rancho Cucamonga in the California League. He is in his first full professional season after being selected in the fifth round by the Dodgers in last year's amateur draft and signing for a $150,300 bonus.

McGough has a 3-10 career record in the minor leagues with 15 saves and a 3.31 ERA in 54 games in two seasons.

The Pirates selected McGough in the 46th round following his senior season at Plum in 2008 but he opted to attend college.
