Alumni Update - Anthony DeFabio (Pitt)

Pitt senior designated hitter Anthony DeFabio, a Plum High School graduate, was named All-Big East Third Team in baseball following a vote of the league’s 12 head coaches.

DeFabio makes the third team for the second consecutive season.

Serving as the team’s designated hitter for all but four of the 53 games he started this season, DeFabio led the team and was sixth in the Big East with a .442 on-base percentage. He was also seventh in the conference in walks (29) and hit a career-high four home runs.

DeFabio’s year ranks him 15th in runs scored (51) on Pitt’s single-season list, as well as 11th in doubles (16) and third in hit-by-pitches (16).
