Talented Plum baseball team continues to work towards goals
With a playoff spot and a section title now in their back pocket, the Plum baseball team now has their eyes set on even bigger goals.
Plum will head into the WPIAL playoffs on a roll. The Mustangs have won 12 of their past 13 games, the only blemish being a 2-1 defeat at Gateway Monday. The Mustangs, who are 14-4 overall (10-2 in section), have earned at least a share of the Class AAAA Section 4 title.
While the Mustangs appear to be a legitimate threat to win a WPIAL championship, coach Carl Vollmer said his team needs to accomplish much more before then.
“I like where this team is,” Vollmer said. "I’m always pushing and pushing. We’re never satisfied. I think we still have work to do to get better. We want to make a deep run (in the playoffs), but we still have a lot of work to do.”
