A three-year starter, Garofalo quickly made his impact felt as a sophomore when he earned a late-season win against Franklin Regional which clinched a WPIAL playoff spot for the Mustangs.
Coach Carl Vollmer said: “He’s a very complete high school pitcher. To pin him as a power or finesse guy, I don’t think it’s complete accurate. He’s a very polished, poised pitcher. The flight on the ball coming out of his hand is very good. It gets on people quicker than people expect. He’s got a plus breaking ball and he uses his fastball a lot. He’s taken off a little bit this year. We knew he had it in him.”
